AI Consent Documents for Psychologists Now Available

We're excited to announce the release of two new consent documents for psychologists incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into their practice. These documents, created by myself, Dr. Anisa Goforth from the University of Montana and Dr. Christopher Thomas from the University of Florida, are designed to help practitioners ethically and transparently integrate AI tools into their work.

Key Features:

  • Two versions available: one for school psychologists and one for counseling/clinical psychologists

  • Each document includes two versions: a technical version and a 6th-grade reading level version (as recommended by the AMA and NIH for health documents)

  • Comprehensive coverage of AI use, potential benefits, risks, and data protection measures

These documents are free to use and can serve as a starting point for psychologists looking to implement AI in their practice. However, please note that these documents are provided as samples for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice. Providers should consult with their legal counsel before adopting these or any other consent forms to ensure they meet all legal requirements and are appropriate for their specific context.
